Why Do I Need an Oregon Registered Agent?
According to Oregon State law (ORS Vol. 2 Chpt. 60.111), all business entities registered with the state appoint and maintain a registered agent within Oregon. The role of the registered agent was created to insure that legal notices could be delivered reliably to businesses.
The Secretary of State’s office will not approve your business formation filing without an Oregon registered agent.
How Do I Change to Your Oregon Registered Agent Service?
Option One: Change on Annual Report
Oregon allows businesses to update information when filing their Annual Report. Annual Reports can be filed online at the Secretary of State’s website. It is also possible to mail or fax your filing to the Secretary of State. You are not required to supply original signatures. Mailed/faxed filings take longer to process, usually 3 to 5 business days. Online filings process immediately.
Option Two: File an Information Change Form
If you need to change registered agents outside of your normal Annual Report period, you may file an Information Change Form. These forms can be printed and either mailed or faxed to the Secretary of State’s office. This form does not require our signature.
Do I Sign Up Before or After I Form My Company?
Hire us first. You must appoint an Oregon registered agent when filing your Articles of Organization or Articles of Incorporation.
If you file without a registered agent, the Secretary of State will reject your application.
